LET’S TALK...

LISTEN TO SHORT TALKS ON DYING, THE AFTERLIFE AND MORE

There are many wonderful non-fiction Mind, Body  and Spirit Books to help us on our lives’ journeys.

Yet I decided to pour everything I have learned in a lifetime of studying the paranormal and human consciousness into a literary spiritual novel…

Why? Well, we all like a good story, eh, especially one of human passion, adventure and jeopardy?

At its heart, The Unbroken is a story of the deep  spiritual love that binds two everyday people across time, space and mysterious worlds of the mind. But the book also sets out to ask its reader questions and to challenge many commonly accepted beliefs about what it means to be human.

There are six important themes and offered here are short video talks on each of them, divided into two easy-listening parts and accompanied by the beautiful original music of celebrated composer Clifford White.

I hope you enjoy them and will let me know
your own thoughts…

LET’S TALK ABOUT DYING

Yes, I realise this is not a popular dinner party conversation! But it’s going to happen to us all and it would be nice to be prepared. Even better if we knew that our survival in a new world is no longer just a matter of belief. In Part One, I talk about the evidence – and why some of it, I’m afraid, is not as good as many people think.

Unsurprisingly, there are very few trustworthy accounts of what it feels like to die! And, thinking rationally, many of the anecdotes we have somehow just don’t seem to ring true. So let’s get our heroine Eva to give us an entirely alternative description…

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE AFTERLIFE

There is a great deal of evidence for our survival of physical death. And there is nothing to be afraid of. So what do we know about the new world we are going to find ourselves in? Verdant pastures and rolling hills in a peaceful and beautiful land? Somehow, this doesn’t make sense. But then, people always tend to believe just what they want to believe…

In Part Two we explore the idea that the afterlife is a world of the mind. Yes, we shall probably see, at first, what we expect to see. But where does that leave people of different beliefs or none? Let’s talk about how our minds actually work – and what the exciting options might be for us!

LET’S TALK ABOUT GUIDES AND ANGELS

I confess that I’m probably going to annoy some of you here! Yes, given that humans survive physical death and enter a new world, there will surely be spiritual beings who would like to help us during our earthly lives. The trouble is, we tend to think that they’re constantly giving us signs and guidance. Is this reasonable? I have a story for you…

Angels are big business these days, and many spiritual people claim to be in direct contact with them daily. But maybe they’re not what we expect… And anyway, is it right to rely on them so much rather than taking personal responsibility for our own lives?

LET’S TALK ABOUT LOVE

Well, we all know what love is, don’t we? It’s one of the most important and powerful forces in our lives. And yet… it takes so many different forms, it changes, comes and goes. So is there really such a thing as pure, unconditional and everlasting love? Even our heroine Eva struggles with that.

At the heart of my novel The Unbroken is a simple, human love story. Well, I say ‘simple’ but even the most profound love can bring with it all kinds of complications. Eva will discover that it is the reason she finds herself in such beautiful but strange surroundings. Love is driving her on. And it’s something within her, leading to danger…

LET’S TALK ABOUT MATHS

No, please don’t turn off! This is not any kind of Maths you learned at school. Numbers can be very beautiful and many people believe they can have special meanings – numerology, angel and mystery numbers. But are these ideas actually helpful on our spiritual path? And what does ‘sacred geometry’ really mean?

Some of the most important numbers in Maths don’t actually have any fixed value. What? That’s weird. And irrational. And one of them is the key to understanding what is genuinely ‘sacred’. It’s all about nature – yes, even you are sacred and irrational! The very structure of my novel The Unbroken depends on this… and it’s never been done before!

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE MIND

It’s not easy to get our heads around this… We have the most extraordinary brains that govern our daily actions and thoughts. But we can also be conscious of our own thoughts and we can reach higher levels of consciousness far beyond the physical senses – even know the future. This is the world of the mind, and neuroscience is catching on…

I hope these talks have established that our minds survive physical death and continue to live in alternative worlds that depend on our beliefs and expectations. Our heroine Eva, with no fixed beliefs, has had a tough awakening. But coming down to Earth, just imagine how a better understanding of our minds would radically transform our lives here and now. The spiritual path is one of joy, caring and love.
